Nokia Announces E72 and 5530 XpressMusic Phones
Nokia announced two new phones at the Connection 09 even in Singapore. There's nothing huge here, just upgraded versions of existing model lines. Despite that, we're pretty excited about the new E72 and 5530 XpressMusic. Check out the full details below. In this smartphone-centric market, we're obviously more excited about the E72, which is basically the E71 but with some important additions. What kind of additions, you ask? We're talking about a 5MP camera (nice), 3.5mm headphone jack (thank you!), integrated compass (has anyone realized how useless these are in a post-gps world?), 10.2Mbps HSDPA and one of those new optical navigation pads (meh). The E72 should be in stores in the third quarter for a little under $500.
The 5530 XpressMusic is much less exciting, coming in with a 3.2MP camera, WiFi (but no 3G!), 3.5mm headphone jack and a 640 x 360 touchscreen display (that's it?). The XpressMusic should be available around the same time as the E72, but for a little under $300.
