The Samsung Sgh-a117 is a basic dual band GSM flip phone on the AT&T network. It comes in a traditional black casing with a grey scale external display and large color LED internal display; the number pad is illuminated and slightly raised.

You can store up to 300 contacts with three phone number and an email address associated with each. The Samsung Sgh-a117 supports SMS, multimedia messaging and T9 predictive text. It includes all the basic features like calendar, stopwatch and calculator. Perhaps the fanciest feature on the Samsung Sgh-a117 is the WAP 2.0 Internet browser.

As a whole, critics found this phone to be adequate in its performance and included a simple menu for navigation; however they mentioned that the phone casing felt a little cheap and flimsy.
