Confirmed: Microsoft Working on Something Pink
While it’s no the most thrilling of news, we kind of take what we can get when it comes to Microsoft and their project Pink. Adweek reported yesterday that after a near battle to the death among ad agencies McCann Erickson won a contract to promote Microsoft’s Pink. That’s about it, but it’s got the blogosphere buzzing.
While the announcement doesn’t give us much, the little it gives is a huge step in the right direction. Microsoft has now gone on the record talking about Pink. That means, at least in this respect, that it’s real. Gizmodo went to McCann’s site and found three videos for the Zune, which does nothing more than feed the speculation that Pink is actually a Zune phone.
Quick recap of other Pink rumors: a cell phone based on the Zune and built on the Windows 7 Mobile platform. It will have a different look and feel to its UI than any other smartphone and may be manufactured by either Sharp or Motorola. There, now you’re all caught up.
