Google Says 18 More Android Phones Coming this Year
Google just dropped an interesting factoid today. Andy Rubin, senior director for Mobile Platforms for Google, said we should be getting 18 Android phones this year. Really? When? That seems like an awfully high number to see in the next 7 months, especially considering that we've been hearing about Android phones for years but only have two actual Android phones on the market right now (the G1 and the Magic, both made by HTC).
Of course, Rubin didn't give details about release dates and carriers, but we've heard rumors coming from several different carriers, and you can bet T-Mobile will probably be putting one out to accompany their G1. What we want to know is which ones will be sporting Donut.
Either way, we'll be seeing a lot more Android by Christmas-time.
