HTC Magic Coming Out May 5, Free with Plan

Here's the good news: The HTC Magic, successor to the popular G1, will be available May 5, and it will be fully subsidized (free) with a monthly plan. Here's the bad news: It's debuting in Europe only for right now.
Vodaphone has announced they will be selling the HTC Magic on May 5th, and by selling I mean giving it free to people who sign up for a monthly plan. They also said the HTC Magic will be running the new Android 1.5 "Cupcake" OS when it ships.
For those of you outside of Europe, you'll just have to hope that a US network will pick it up soon. We've already seen evidence that T-Mobile will turn it into the G2, so perhaps that isn't far away. And who knows, maybe Vodaphone will work some kind of crazy voodoo magic and somehow get the Magic on the network of its partner, Verizon, too.
Don't hold your breath.
