LG Blurs the Line Between Camera and Phone

It seems that phones and cameras are slowly merging into the same device. Case in point: the LG GC990 Louvre. This new phone from LG can shoot 720p video and record stills at 12 megapixels.

Following in Samsung’s footsteps LG has created a device that is literally a camera on one side and a phone on the other. The back looks just like a point and shooter, while the phone side looks very much the part of a capable smartphone.

As much as we would like to see a phone that can shoot at 3200 ISO through a Kreuznach lens it seems this phone might never see the light of day. It might just be destined to be a trade show piece, one that says “look what we could make if we wanted to.” What a shame.
