Palm Pre Coming to Verizon, with App Store and iTunes Sync
Things are heating up as we get closer to the Palm Pre release date and the a couple new things popped up today at D7. We've got confirmation that the Palm Pre will be coming to Verizon and sync with iTunes. The news on Verizon comes from the company's CEO during a webcast. The Pre will be exclusive to Sprint for six months, but after that Verizon plans to sell it too. If you want the Pre but don't want to end your Verizon contract, at least now you have something to look forward to, even if it means waiting another 6 months.
You may not want to, though, considering all the Pre features we keep learning about. The latest feature news says that the Palm Pre will be able to sync with iTunes because it acts as a storage device when connected by USB. So you'll be able to have your whole iTunes playlist on your Pre without many problems
The Palm Pre will also launch with an app store with about a dozen apps, mostly common things like Fandango. There will obviously be more when Palm releases the SDK to developers, which has yet to happen. And finally, we also found out that there will be a GSM version of the Palm Pre "in a few months." Nice.
