Sears Offering the Motorola DROID for $150, No Rebates Required
The rebate has long been the bane of the tech enthusiast. Companies tell us about big discounts and then fail to mention, except in fine print, that the discount is only after mailing in a rebate application and waiting weeks to get your money back. The Motorola DROID is no exception, advertised as $200 on contract, but you actually pay $300 and then wait for them to mail you a $100 gift card. Now Sears is offering a wonderful respite from the rebate madness and a discount too.
We weren’t even aware that Sears sold phones, but they do through their wireless shop Wirefly. Starting today, Sears is offering the Motorola DROID for $150, which is $50 off the Verizon price AND you don’t have to deal with any rebates. Of course, you’ll still have to sign a two-year contract. You didn’t think they’d let you get away that fast did you?
The Motorola DROID is one of the best phones currently on the market, so this is an excellent opportunity to pick it up… if you can find a Wirefly outlet, that is.
