Yet Another Release Date for the Garmin-ASUS nuvifone G60
Here we go again. The mysterious Garmin nuvifone now has another official release date.
Obviously, there's no way to know if this one is any more concrete than the other release dates that have come and gone, but now we're to believe the nuvifone G60 will be coming out sometime before 2010.
I remember back in early 2008 when they announced the nuvifone. It was exciting. The specs for the phone seemed promising and given Garmin's track record with navigation devices the phone looked to be revolutionary. Here we are a year and a half later and still no nuvifone. I must admit that my excitement for the device has waned some since early 2008. It appears that the delays have been caused in part by its Linux operating system and as such this will be the last Linux device that they make.
I for one am still skeptical. I do like Garmin's products so I hope that this product does become reality, and that it can live up to the hype. We'll find out before 2010, maybe.
