Motion-Awareness, Front-Facing Video Camera Coming to Next Gen iPhone?
The amount of speculation Apple generates with each patent filing is neck and neck with purported water-powered vehicles that forwarded emails would have me believe are being suppressed by the Oil Industry. That said, the latest patent-fueled rumor could be bringing some critical changes to the latest iPhone model planned for release this year. The new patent seems to indicate the possibility, if not inevitability, of a front-facing video camera, which would make video chat possible without the need for the 3G videoconferencing kit. This could, in theory, make real-time video chat with other iPhone users and other video chat users possible.
In addition to the video camera, the patents also seem to indicate some newfangled motion-sensitivity functionality, which has been speculated to adapt to shaky environments or while users are in motion themselves, making it slightly easier to type actual words while walking.
It could just be another patent that amounts to nothing beyond feverish forum speculation and early-adopter salivation. But, then again, some people actually earn their livings or feel their greatest sense of well-being in those forums.
